What it’s not —
To many, “reflexology” is a foreign concept – until they begin hearing about it and then they will often exclaim, “oh, you mean foot massage!” But while I recognize how folks can come to that conclusion, there’s oh such much more going on in one of these sessions!
What it is —
Reflexology is a complementary form of therapy that begins with the assertion that our body systems and organs are represented – mapped - on the feet, hands, ears, and face. When these (reflex) areas are manipulated, typically with thumbs and fingers, the stimulation increases the circulation of blood, nutrients, lymph, and bio-electrical signals, thereby prompting relaxation, reducing stress, and assisting the body’s mission to maintain or return to homeostasis.
The body systems (e.g. circulatory, nervous, lymphatic) are always communicating and our “health” depends upon those lines being open and clear. When one system or another has been taxed to the point that communication is hindered in any way, the entire body begins getting stressed.
The purpose of Reflexology is to stimulate those “mapped” areas on the feet, triggering increased activity at the point of contact, as well as - reflexively - at the associated organs, glands, and/or systems – bolstering the body’s ability to contend effectively with any stagnancy and/or sluggishness present – so the body’s capacity for healing itself is maximized.

REFLEXOLOGY SERVICES
At home studio in Greeneville, TN
What to expect
Every effort is made to create a clean, peaceful environment for the session. Aside from removing shoes and socks, clients will remain fully clothed - although they are encouraged to wear pants (or such) that are loose fitting from the knees down. During the session, clients are welcome to ask questions, but silence is absolutely fine. In fact, all are encouraged to set their focus (thoughts) upon the process, the sensations arising, and imagining the body’s forces uniting toward homeostasis.
Please plan for about 60 mins/session and 75 for your first visit, to allow time for intake and introductions.

Added bonus!
There’s been a recent addition to the practice – a 5 Therapy/Multi-Wave PEMF mat from Healthy Wave.
This mat combines PEMF (pulsed electro-magnetic field therapy), photon therapy, FIR (far-infrared heat), negative ions, and crystals. Mind you, there are considerations before incorporating this into a session and they will be addressed during intake.
